One Hundred Paintings, 2005 – 2009
After years of not able to paint (due partly to over thinking it) I suspended my disbelief and set myself to paint without questioning what or why I was painting. These pictures were painted on off-the-shelf 24 inch square plywood purchased at Home Depot. I committed to do one hundred of them, letting the square dictate the direction as I went along. The range of styles and imageries pretty much covered everything I’ve done, a kind of revisiting of my repertoire. A show of it was titled Neither Here Nor There, because I wanted to say painting isn’t an either/or proposition. For that matters, same need to be said of life.
