All The Ways In Which I Abuse Her, 2016

Continuing with the method from Taiwan Suite and Blind Paintings, involving stencils with leaf cutouts, can-spray paints on grounds of oil colors, layers upon layers, giving them illusions of depths. The results are unpredictable, for the outcome of each layer of spraying is uncertain. With pretty leaves in varies shapes and cute little creatures, they are the most decorative of all of my paintings. The title came from a line in Marcus Aurelius’s Meditation, about our total lack of respect for nature.
