The Blind Paintings, 2015 – 16

Starting with a ground of solid color, I can spray a coat of paint through a cardboard stencil with holes drilled into it. It’s then sanded and the process repeats until a degree of richness and wholeness is achieved. The title touch on a challenge of being blind: not able to see where you are going, which was how I felt about painting. The connection to the Three Blind Mice video was unintended, yet there.
