Lament for Nature, 2021-2025

Large scale paintings demand the viewers to look up, like being in nature staring at a mountain range, and feeling diminutiveness of the self. Base on digital images shot in the Catskill Mountains, of a particular vantage point, depicting the four seasons. The pictures are each demarcated into 120 squares, disseminated and fragmented spaces, with broken lines and hyperbolized colors. As if to say: Something is wrong with these painting of landscapes. And to say: In the Anthropocene, painting of nature as an art form can mean no longer what it meant in the past.

It took five years to complete this series.
